(The Post Script)– South African Rugby and First National Bank (FNB) have strengthened their partnership, with the bank stepping up as the principal sponsor of all national teams. This move sees the FNB logo shift from the shoulders to the front of the jerseys for the Springboks, Blitzboks, Springbok Women, and all age-group teams.
This expansion builds on FNB’s existing support, having been the Springbok Women’s primary sponsor since 2021. SA Rugby CEO Rian Oberholzer expressed his excitement about the deeper collaboration, highlighting FNB’s long-standing commitment to the sport and the significant step forward this represents for rugby in the country.
The new-look jerseys will debut when the Springboks take on Italy in Pretoria on 5 July. The rollout will extend across all national teams in the coming weeks.
FNB CEO Harry Kellan emphasised the bank’s enduring support for South African rugby, noting the sport’s role in uniting the nation and showcasing local talent on the global stage. He reaffirmed FNB’s commitment to using rugby as a vehicle for positive societal impact.
Chief Marketing Officer Faye Mfikwe echoed these sentiments, stating that FNB’s investment in grassroots rugby and development initiatives aligns with their broader mission of empowerment and transformation in sport.
